Architecture

Sectors we know inside & out

We design at every scale, from master planning down to the last built detail. A century of practice has taught us to measure our work by yours. Buildings that get consented, get built, and go on working long after we're gone.

Capabilities & Services

  • Testing what's possible on your site before you commit, and finding the strongest response.

Before you commit to a full design, we pressure-test the opportunity: what the site can carry, what the planning rules allow, and where the value and the risks sit. We model options: yield, form, view shafts, sun and shade, so you can make decisions on evidence, not assumptions. It's the groundwork that turns an ambitious idea into a viable project.

  • Street elevation of a four-storey apartment building with timber-framed balconies behind mature street trees at dusk

Shaping precincts, campuses and neighbourhoods, and the connections between them.

We think beyond the building line, how a site connects, how people move through it, and how a development sits within its wider context. From integrated health and community precincts to large residential neighbourhoods, we plan for how a place will grow and be used over decades, not just how it looks on opening day. It's the discipline that sets every good project up to succeed.

  • Full architectural design across healthcare, community, residential, education and commercial projects.

This is the core of what we do: resolving brief, site and budget into a building that works hard and lasts. We design across sectors and scales, from single interventions to complex multi-stage developments, always with an eye on how the building will actually be used, occupied and maintained. Bold where it counts, pragmatic where it matters.

  • Pilkingtons: heritage buildings above the new glass pavilion at dusk, Sky Tower behind

Adaptive re-use and sensitive upgrades that give existing buildings a new life.

Older buildings carry a character new ones can’t buy. But bringing them up to modern standards takes care and technical judgement. We work strategically with existing fabric, blending seismic strengthening, new servicing and contemporary additions with the qualities worth keeping. The result respects a building’s history while making it fit for how people work and live now.

  • Black and white terraced homes with recessed balconies along a landscaped path

Detailed documentation and construction observation, carrying the design through to built reality.

A design is only as good as the building it becomes. Our documentation is thorough and coordinated, and we stay involved through construction: observing on site, resolving detail, and holding the line on quality so the finished building matches the intent. Our grasp of the technical, contractual, and legislative detail is what turns ambitious designs into successful built outcomes.
