Pollen

In the heart of Auckland's CBD, Ministry was challenged to activate the lobby space of an office tower. The solution? The creation of Pollen Café. Designed with subtlety the cafe seamlessly blends with the lobby while creating its own unique identity. Featuring an outdoor terrace, it transforms the building's street frontage into a welcoming sun trap and a hub for both corporate professionals and passers-by.

Full-height operable glazing connects the café with the street while large format stone flooring links the terrace and cafe back to the lobby encouraging visitors to explore beyond the typical tower lobby entrance.

Lighting plays a pivotal role in defining the café's ambiance with the gold and rose-gold pendants casting a softer light to help differentiate the space from the adjacent lobby. Joinery and fixtures are minimally detailed with clean lines while finishes are  curated to reflect the refined presence of the café. With careful consideration of acoustics, the café establishes itself as a permanent hospitality fixture of corporate Auckland.
